The Skinny on Global WarmingPosted by Abdelhay Elanbassi in Global Warming |
|

Wherever you are in the world, whether you are on vacation in Morocco or on business travel, global warming means the same. It is about the increase in the Earth’s average temperature. It’s a fairly new addition to the world’s environmental concerns; it was observed only during the last 100 years.
Global warming is actually a specific term under the broad category of climate change. It is opposite global cooling. In day-to-day conversation, global warming indicates the recent trend of global warming and implies that human activities cause it, like tours to Morocco, for example.
Global warming is largely attributed to the greenhouse effect: certain gases like carbon dioxide and methane are trapping energy from the sun inside the earth. Otherwise, the sun’s heat would just happily escape back to space. Global warming is largely attributed to the Industrial Revolution, although the combined strength of the sun and volcanoes also contribute to it, albeit on a smaller scale.
As it is, with greenhouse gases still floating about in the atmosphere, global warming will cause the Earth’s temperature to rise further to in the 21st century and will continue to 2100. The desert climate will definitely become more swelteringly hot for the travel tourist. Global warming and sea levels are expected to rise for over a millennium even after the amount of greenhouse gases actually lower.
There are still scientific uncertainties on the exact amount of global warming expected in the future, and how global warming will in different parts of the world. There is also a lot of politics and public debate around the world on what action should be undertaken to reduce global warming and to reverse its effects. Majority of the world’s national governments, however, have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol, an agreement between governments that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions around the world.
Although it is impossible to curtail our leisure or business activities like visiting Morocco, we can always go for plantation to help our mother earth.
