Forget about the sand dunes, the world heritage site that is Fez, and the busiest square in Africa found only in Marakesh. If you think, they are too swelteringly hot and overrated for a travel tourist, then go to Sahara Soul and try these little known gems in your next vacation to Morocco.
Rabat
Rabat is actually the capital city of the Kingdom of Morocco. Some of the major sites include the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Mohammed V University, the Hassan Tower, the Chellah necropolis, and the Oudaya.
The most notable hotel in Rabat is the Villa Mandarine. The villa has an orange tree grove within a large park. It also has a swimming pool. Some Morocco vacation packages feature the Villa Mandarine. However, it is most preferred by business travelers going to Rabat.
Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate actually means “without confusion” or “without noise” noise in Berber. And indeed, there is no confusion on what place Ouarzazate holds on the Morocco travel map.
The Ouarzazate plays host to one of the largest studio in the world - Atlas Studios – where some of the most popular historical movies were shot, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.
Aside from the Atlas Studios, Ouarzazate is prominently mentioned in Morocco travel information for its closeness to the Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains. It is not surprising then that tourists take a stop at Ouarzazate and then move on to other Morocco adventure travels.
Erfoud
Erfourd is a town on Morocco’s eastern side. At this place, you can find the Kasbah Hotel Xaluca Maadid. The Kasbah Hotel is found very near the Moroccan desert, and you can actually ask the hotel staff to arrange for you a camel ride or a 4x4 driving experience into the desert.
Rabat, Ouarzazate and Erfoud are just some of the alternative places you can include in your itinerary when you plan a trip to Morocco.
