Keys to Responsible TravelPosted by Abdelhay Elanbassi in Responsible Travel, Global Warming |

Traveling responsibly is all about maximizing your connections to the Moroccan culture and the desert climate. It is also about making a positive impact on the life of your Moroccan travel tourist guide.
The bottom line of responsible travel is to make travelers more aware of tourism’s three bottom lines: the environmental impact, social and cultural impact, and economic impact of your vacation to Morocco.
Being a responsible traveler while you vacation in Morocco, means making a personal and direct contribution to easing the negative impacts of tourism on the three bottom lines.
So, exactly, how can your travel responsibly to Morocco?
You can do it first by researching as much as you can, because the more you know about Morocco and its people, the easier it is for you to appreciate the culture and the place. Also, take the time to learn a few word of local language for a dash of goodwill and hospitality. Make sure though that the words you learn are actually the polite expressions.
Leave nothing behind in Morocco, not even a love affair. Leaving behind film boxes and plastics are a no-no too. Do not let the Moroccans pick up your trash after you. Be sensitive to the local culture too, and do not force your culture on the paces. Take your cues on good behavior from the locals and always, try to see things from a Moroccan’s point of view. Chill out.
You should also take cues from the Moroccans in the way your dress. Since Morocco is conservative, do not flaunt flesh, be neat, and clean in your deportment.
When you are ready to buy your gifts, try buying the local crafts – it only means you are helping the Moroccans earn their keep. Bargain with them if you will and have fun while you are at it. Make a haggling just a part of your Morocco adventure travel.
